Dr. T.F. Fitzgerald was born in Knoxville and was a graduate of the Tennessee Medical College in 1891. He did postgraduate work at Georgetown and the New York Polyclinic. He was employed with the Southern Railway in Knoxville, the with Eastern State Mental Hospital and then in private practice. He lived in Northern Knoxville in the community then called Beaumont.
